What is AI product photography?
It is a full product set generated from one reference photograph of the garment: four or five editorial frames on a model, in a chosen location, in about thirty seconds. No model booking, no photographer, no location and no lighting kit. The garment in the output is the garment you sent; the model, the room and the light are what get generated.
One shoot, not four images
The frames in a set share a model, a room, a light and a time of day, because each one after the first is generated against the one before it. Left unchained they drift: different woman, different wall, different hour.
Twelve rooms, or one of your own
A villa, a colonnade, a shuttered room, a walled courtyard, a gallery, a clean studio, a flat lay, macro detail, movement, a festive interior and a full sweep for volume. Or describe a room in a sentence and it is used instead.
Three resolutions, priced honestly
Standard is right for a storefront and every marketplace. High is four times the pixels for a hero image or print. Max is the largest model at full resolution. They cost different amounts because they cost us different amounts.
Built for
Who this is for
Labels shooting a new drop
The samples are on your floor now and the shoot calendar says a fortnight.
Sellers with a long tail
The pieces at the bottom of the list never justified a shoot day, and convert worst for exactly that reason.
Boutiques
The real alternative is a phone photograph on a hanger, not a studio.
Exporters and manufacturers
You already photograph every sample before it ships. That photograph is the input.
Why this rather than a shoot
A set, not four images
Each frame is generated against the one before it, so the model, the room, the light and the time of day hold. Left unchained they drift into four different women in four different rooms.
Twelve rooms, or one of yours
A villa, a colonnade, a shuttered room, a walled courtyard, a gallery, a clean studio, a flat lay, macro detail, movement and a festive interior. Or describe a room in a sentence and it is used instead.
The garment is held
Category specific silhouette rules mean a saree stays a saree and a sherwani stays a sherwani, rather than becoming whatever the model has seen most of.
Three resolutions
Standard for a storefront and every marketplace, high for a hero image or print, max for the largest model at full resolution.
Side by side
Against a studio shoot
| Feature | Flatlay Studio | Studio shoot |
|---|---|---|
| Time to first frame | About thirty seconds | Days, after the booking |
| Booking required | None | Model, photographer, location |
| Models to cast | 39 across six segments | Whoever is available |
| Reshoot one frame | One frame, minutes | A second shoot day |
| Colourways | Generated from the same set | Photograph each one |
| Marketplace crops | Five ratios, included | Edited by hand afterwards |
| Listing copy | Written with the set | Written separately |
The numbers
The arithmetic
What a season of catalogue photography actually takes, either way.
| Studio shoot | With Flatlay | |
|---|---|---|
| Forty new pieces | Two to three shoot days | An afternoon, in one batch |
| Lead time | Weeks, on somebody else's calendar | None. Start when the sample lands |
| A piece you forgot | Wait for the next booking | Generate it that evening |
| Six colourways | Six times the shoot | From the set you already have |
| Restock next season | Rebook, and hope she is free | The same model, on demand |
The cost that hurts is rarely the invoice. It is the pieces that never get photographed, because a shoot has a fixed capacity and your catalogue does not.
How it runs
- 01
Send one photograph
A phone shot on your studio floor, a flat lay, or a link. No lighting, no model, no booking.
- 02
Choose the shoot
Twelve locations, thirty-nine models across six segments, three resolutions. Or describe a room of your own.
- 03
It generates
Four or five frames chained to each other, so the model, the room and the light hold across the set.
- 04
Take the listing
Frames, copy, size chart, costed price and marketplace crops, ready to upload.
Questions
- What do I need to send?
- One photograph of the garment. A flat lay, a phone shot on a hanger, or a shot on a person all work.
- How long does a set take?
- About thirty seconds for a standard set, since the frames are chained rather than run in parallel.
- Will the fabric and print survive?
- The cut, the colour, the print layout, the embroidery and the trims are carried from your reference. That preservation is the whole job.
- What if one frame is wrong?
- Reshoot that frame alone with an instruction or a reference image. The four you were happy with stay as they are.
